How We Do Our Homework
Welcome! Pull up a chair. Here's the scoop on how this site figures out what to tell you.
Where the info comes from
We start with the best sources we can find. That means the companies that make the stuff, dermatology groups like the American Academy of Dermatology, FDA label rules, and real published studies. Sometimes we also use health sites and articles that quote experts, and we link those too. Every fact we share comes with a link to where we found it, so you can click over and check our work. Go ahead, we don't mind! When we couldn't find anything solid, we say so.
When nobody knows for sure
Sometimes the research just isn't there yet. When we can't find a study, we'll tell you straight up. When the experts can't agree, we'll show you both sides and tell you which option we picked.
What's on the menu
Serums, creams, stuff you put on your face. That's it. We don't cover injectable copper peptides or "research peptides." We'll never tell you a product cures anything. We'll just tell you how it might make your skin look or feel.
Doctor stuff
Got a prescription, a skin condition, a baby on the way, or a reaction that won't quit? That's a job for a dermatologist or your doctor. They've got the training for it.
The Routine Builder
Our Routine Builder plays by the same rules. Every suggestion comes with a "Why?" and a link to back it up. It never messes with the timing of your prescription or acne treatment.
Keeping things fresh
Every article has a "last checked" date. When a source changes, we update the page.
